Bedroom Flower Fabric Wreath tutorial

Bedroom Flower Fabric Wreath tutorial I was almost done with the make-over and all of the craft projects that went along with it, when I looked at the door and realized how bare it was.  Might I add that this house is a little over 30 years old, so there’s still some left over scotch tape pieces caked on the door from childhood posters.  :)  So…I kind of wanted to cover that up until we made the decision to replace the doors. Then I thought, why couldn’t I add a wreath to it?  Why not?  I thought it would also give a pop of color to the brown door. …so that’s what I went with!  A Bedroom Wreath!  Part of me thought this would be an easy project.  HA!  No.  LOL  It actually turned out better than I thought it would…and I pretty much lost the top layers of my fingers, again from the hot glue gun!  :)  So be aware, it could happen to you as well.  That pesky glue gun is going to be the end of me… Materials: fabric styrofoam wreath white felt lime green felt bakers twine hot glue gun The first thing you do is lay the […]

Washi Tape Frames I had received this Washi Tape Frames idea from various blog posts that I’ve seen online and thought that it would be the perfect gift.  Who couldn’t use more picture frames throughout ther house?  And now a days when we have a camera literally attached to our hips, you can now print those thousands of photos and display them in such a cute ways! I love displaying pictures, especially black and white ones.  Therefore when you have a colorful frame, it definitely brings out the brightness and contrast of the black and white photo.  There are so many different designs of washi tape now a days, you could literally match the photo if you would like!  …maybe I should remember that idea the next time.  :) This project is pretty simple, doesn’t cost much, and literally takes no time at all to accomplish.  Honestly, even a child could do it. Materials: wooden frame washi tape scissors mod podge Start by placing one strip across the edge of the frame.  Depending on the pattern on your tape, when you place the next strip you may have to go the opposite direction.  It may take some time getting used […]

Plucky’s Home Christmas Decorations Tour

Last Winter we did a HUGE home remodel (one in which I’m almost ready to show you the before’s and after’s of), so we were unable to decorate at all for Christmas.  And because of that, it didn’t even feel like Christmas.  However…this year we decided to really go all out and do it!  Since the home was remodeled, it was fun trying to figure out where everything goes (almost like decorating a brand new house)!  We also bought a new tree after last Christmas, some new decorations, etc.  It was totally fun decorating this year and the house really feels so cozy and cute!  The only weird thing?  It’s December in Ohio and we haven’t really had a snow stick to the ground!  In fact, as I type this post, it’s 50 degrees outside!  LOL  :)  ENJOY! The outside of our house looks so different this year as we’ve taken bushes out from in front of the downstairs windows as well as in front of the gas meter, so we didn’t have anywhere to place lights.  However, Home Depot had these cute snowflakes on sale that we thought would be a cute touch!  :)  The bad thing?  We had […]

Update Your Flower Beds

Flower beds are so vital to your house and how you display it to others.  There’s a variety of things that you can do to your front flower bed to welcome all visitors and to just show off your home.  Our flowerbeds have gone through quite the transformations over the years, however I think the latest one turned out to be the best one. As you can see from the photo above, we used to have three, very large, bushes out front that pretty much took over most of our flower beds.  However over time, the backs of these bushes began to die, very slowly.  You can’t tell from this angle, but if you were to sit on the porch and look behind them, you could clearly see right through them!  :)  Gradually the longer the bushes were there (a good 25+ years), we realized how much moisture the held into that little area.  The mulch, the bricks, everything was just damp; and we all know what dampness brings…yep…bugs. Also, we pretty much used these bushes as a privacy for the windows behind them.  The windows used to be the half bath and our office.  It wasn’t exactly something that we […]
